Glitz, then glitch, on Oscar night
The “grace’’ of the movie’s producer in acknowledging the correct winner of best picture is not the “The lesson of ‘La La Land’ ’’ (Opinion, Feb. 28). After all, what other choice did he have?
The lesson from the foul-up on Oscar night is that we should ignore the political musings of celebrities who become befuddled without a correct script.

The best picture Oscar fiasco reminded me of my flight instructor from years ago. He warned, “You can make an airplane with two buttons, one for ‘up’ and one for ‘down,’ and there’s always someone who will press the wrong button.’’
