Hugh B. Turner Jr.
On Jan. 15, 2018, the world stopped – for the briefest of moments – so Hugh B. Turner Jr. could step off, passing peacefully from this world to the next.
Hugh was born on July 6, 1947 in Cleveland, to the late Hugh Sr. and Jewel (nee Hrice) Turner. He has resided in Litchfield since 1948.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Sandy (nee Keller), to whom he was married 46 years; daughters, Rachel LaChance, Renee (Raymond) Allison, and Robin (Gregory) Winterstein; grandchildren, D.J., Gage, Danielle, Gabrielle, Ray Jr., Ezmarelda, Elvria, Veronica, Turner, Sean, Evelyn and Lenore.
Funeral service was held Jan. 20 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1377 Lester Road, Valley City, with the Rev. Phillip Zielinski officiating. Calling hours were held at the Bauer Funeral Home, 2089 Columbia Road, Valley City.
At Hugh’s request, cremation will follow services and burial will be held later at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the Louis Stokes VA Center, 10791 East Blvd., Cleveland, OH 44106; Hospice of Western Reserve, 5075 Windfall Road, Medina, OH 44256; or a charity of the donor’s choice.
