It’s a shame that Alex Rodriguez isn’t playing for the Yankees anymore. Now that the retired Bronx Bomber is in an apparently serious relationship with Ben Affleck’s former fiance Jennifer Lopez, it would be interesting to see how Red Sox fans might respond when Rodriguez strolled to the plate at Fenway. Sox fans used to take great pleasure in tormenting A-Rod. In 2007, you’ll recall, fans sitting behind the Yankees dugout donned blond female masks to taunt Rodriguez after New York tabloids published photos of the then-married slugger out in Toronto with a blond stripper. Affleck, of course, might be the most famous Red Sox fan, and when he was engaged to JLo in the early 2000s, the pair used to go to games at Fenway together, often sitting in box seats next to the Sox dugout. Bennifer broke up in 2004. Lopez, who’s 47 now, has been dating Rodriguez, 41, for about two months. That might not seem long, but US Weekly, citing an anonymous source close to Lopez, says J-Rod “definitely see a future together.’’ Looks like they’re done playing the field.
