It’s been nearly a decade since the Dresden Dolls played a show together, but Amanda Palmer and Brian Viglione are reuniting for two performances this summer. The Boston-bred duo are playing Aug. 26 at the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion and at the Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk the next night. Tickets for both shows go on sale April 15. “We are back in action,’’ Palmer told Pitchfork Friday, adding “this is it. These are right now two totally isolated ‘let’s get the band back together’ shows.’’ Since Dresden Dolls last played, Palmer wrote a book, “The Art of Asking: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Let People Help,’’ and had a baby with her husband, writer Neil Gaiman. Viglione formed a band, Scarlet Sails, with his wife, Olya, and played drums with the Violent Femmes.
