Just days after her performance at Blue Hills Bank Pavilion, Aretha Franklin announced that she is canceling some upcoming shows. The Associated Press reported that the singer said in a statement Monday that the cancellations were “due to doctors’ orders’’ and that she should be back on the road in the fall. . . . Authors Casey Sherman and Dave Wedge are developing a TV series about former LFO singer Rich Cronin (who died from leukemia in 2010) and his dealings with the late Lou Pearlman. Wedge and Sherman’s production company, Whydah Productions, acquired the rights to Cronin’s unpublished memoir and they’ll develop the project with Jay Giannone. . . . Boston-based DJ Joe Bermudez recently reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart with “Sunrise,’’ his song featuring South African singer Louise Carver. According to Billboard, this is the third top 10 for Bermudez, who made it twice in 2015 with “DJ Fav’’ featuring Amanda Brigham (which went to No. 6) and “Forget to Breathe’’ featuring Natasha Anderson (No. 10). “My first No. 1 record is kind of like my first kiss,’’ Bermudez told Billboard. “I never thought it was going to happen and when it did I was overwhelmed with an excitement I’ve never felt before. So much so, that it’s hard to even put into words. It’s something that I’ll never forget, though.’’
