Medina High School students shared their love of poetry during the annual Poetry Out Loud event Jan. 25 in the Studio Theater at the high school.

Each participant memorized and recited two poems from the Poetry Out Loud anthology before a panel of judges who chose the winner based on physical presence, voice, dramatic appropriateness, level of complexity, understanding of the poem and overall performance.

Junior Paige Gibeault took first place and will be moving on to the regional competition.
