It’s time again for the Boston Film Festival, which returns to AMC Boston Common Sept. 21-24.

The 33rd edition of the festival will feature not only films, including a few world premieres, but also notable attendees, including producer-director James Keach (“Glen Campbell . . . I’ll Be Me’’), MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, and actors Barkhad Abdi (“Captain Phillips’’), John Bradley (“Game of Thrones’’), Anne Heche (“Wag the Dog’’), and Mike Vogel (“The Help’’). The festival’s diverse lineup includes five documentaries: “Augie,’’ “In the Name of Peace: John Hume in America,’’ “What Haunts Us,’’ “Heal,’’ and “The Bullish Farmer’’; and the NBC series “The Brave,’’ which stars Heche and Vogel.
