AT THE the March 7 meeting of the MBTA’s Fiscal Management and Control Board, Transportation Secretary Stephanie Pollack said those protesting against increased fares represented only a small percentage of riders (“It’s official: T’s riders to pay more as of July,’’ Page A1, March 8).

The same article reports that at several public meetings, the riders who testified were overwhelmingly opposed to fare hikes.

Secretary Pollack, please check your math.
