Suffolk University announced Friday that it has reached an agreement to settle a dispute between former president Margaret McKenna and the college.
The school would not reveal the specifics of the dispute or the agreement. McKenna could not be reached for comment.
The chairman of Suffolk’s board, Robert C. Lamb, said in a statement that an investigation found no evidence that McKenna engaged in any action for her personal financial benefit.
Earlier this year, the school’s former public relations contractor, George Regan, threatened to file a lawsuit that accused McKenna of misspending university resources and verbally abusing employees. As a result the school launched an investigation.
“The board of trustees expresses its appreciation for President McKenna’s many contributions to the Suffolk Community,’’ the statement said. It said the parties would not comment further.
McKenna was fired in July by the trustees who at the time did not give a reason. McKenna vowed to pursue mediation, which has been ongoing until now.
