Game On in Fenway has barred Goodell

Workers at Game On aren’t mincing words. They say NFL commissioner Roger Goodell should be banned from Boston.

Following a federal appeals court decision Monday to reinstate quarterback Tom Brady’s four-game suspension, the Fenway-area bar used the large digital billboard space outside the establishment to register their disapproval.

“Banned From Boston,’’ reads the sign facing Lansdowne Street. It shows a picture of a sheepish -looking Goodell with a “prohibition sign,’’ a red circle with a diagonal line across it, over the NFL official’s face.

“I’m not a real big fan of his,’’ said Harry Conforti, a manager at Game On who came up with the idea for the billboard. “I prefer he never show his ‘Howdy Doody’ face in Boston.’’

Conforti said the sign went up shortly after the court’s decision, along with another digital message that said “Free Brady.’’

“It just popped in the head,’’ he said.

Game On plans to keep both messages up through this weekend, when the Red Sox take on the Yankees at Fenway Park.

“I’m sure people will enjoy that, but we will come up with something else that’s funny as well,’’ said Conforti.
