Each year, the Medina County Fall Foliage Tour, put on by the Medina County Park District, highlights 10-15 places of interest that can include farms, agribusinesses, historical societies, and special events. Pictured is Nathan Loyer, 3, son of Elizabeth and Johnathan Loyer of Medina, as he looks over a selection of pumpkins at Richardson Farms as he seeks one he is strong enough to pick up. Les and Lois Lucas, of Wadsworth, visited the Lodi Railroad Depot Museum during the fall foliage tour on Sat. Oct. 13. While there, they sampled “Hobo Stew” cooked over an open fire.

Matthew Swaino, 9, of Wadsworth, was given the opportunity to take the controls of the former Kiddieland train from Chippewa Lake Park when he visited the Lodi Railroad Depot Museum during the Fall Foliage Tour on Oct. 13.

Fran Menssen, retired from the railroad himself, volunteered to explain the jobs of various workers involved with the railroad of days gone by. Here he tells a visitor at the Lodi Railroad Depot Museum how the “train order hoop,” circa 1905, was used to communicate between trains.
