I reported on the revival of “Roseanne’’ a few weeks ago, noting that it will be particularly interesting to see how the writers manage to bring John Goodman’s Dan Connor back to life without turning the sitcom into part of the “Walking Dead’’ franchise.

Well it looks at though there’s an awful lot of curiosity out there about the project. Since it premiered at ABC’s upfront presentation on May 16, the trailer has gotten over 34 million views on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

Maybe all those people are looking to see how the show, executive produced this time by Tom Werner, Roseanne Barr, Sara Gilbert, Bruce Helford, Whitney Cummings, and Tony Hernandez, will solve the Dead Dan issue. If so, the trailer won’t help. It’s an almost four-minute video collection of punch lines from the original series, with nary a hint of what is to come.

Who cares how many people are watching these network video introductions to their new fall shows? Hollywood does, more and more, after NBC’s clip for “This Is Us’’ drew more than 50 million views last May, an early signal that the show itself (along with Milo Ventimiglia‘s behind, which was featured in the video) would arrive amid a lot of interest.
