


Cooper, Calame named Buckeye students of the month
MEDINA - Daniel Cooper and Alaina Calame have been named the Buckeye High School students of the month for January.
After graduation, Daniel plans to attend University of Akron to earn a degree in biology. Afterwards, he plans to attend the North East Ohio Medical School to pursue his dream of being a surgeon.
He has taken numerous advanced classes including AP U.S. Government, AP Physics 1, Academic Challenge, English Composition, Honors Math, Honors Science, Honors English, Honors History, and Advanced Anatomy.
Daniel has participated in academic challenge for three years with Dr. Baldwin and Mr. Call and played soccer for two years. Daniel has also received honor roll for all 4 years and he is in National Honor Society.
After graduation Alaina is planning on attending college to pursue a bachelor’s degree in pre-medicine. Alaina has taken numerous advanced placement and College Credit Plus classes.
Alaina has earned many honors and awards throughout high school. She earned Top Scholar awards her sophomore and junior years and has been involved in softball for four years, volleyball four years, and basketball for two years.
Alaina also has participated in leadership activities such as HUDDLE, National Honor Society, and Freshman Mentors.
