William John Shurance
William (Bill) John Shurance, 92, of Seville, was called home by his Heavenly Father on Jan. 27, 2018. He was born in Mansfield, Ohio on Sept. 25, 1925 to Elizabeth (Ziegler) and William Eugene Shurance.
Bill began his walk with the Lord when he was a young man. He was drafted into the Army during World War II where he made prosthetic limbs. He married Helen Keiper on Dec. 8, 1946, moving to Medina in 1952. Bill was a member of the Medina Apostolic Christian Church, where he faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher and minister for many years. He worked for 32 years as an inspector at Portage Machine, finishing his career at Triple S in 1987.
William is survived by his wife of 71 years, Helen; children, Becky (Rick) Hunyady, Nan (Don) Steidl, Tom (Lilly) Shurance, Judy (Jim) Fetzer and Steve Shurance; 20 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Martha Bolera.
