Like the rest of, Gotham Chopra, the director of “Tom vs Time,’’ expected the Patriots to win the Super Bowl. But they didn’t, of course, and now the final installment of the Facebook Watch series on Tom Brady has been delayed.
In a note posted on the show’s Facebook page, Chopra said the sixth and final episode was predicated on a Pats victory. With the loss, he decided to “pause and recalibrate’’ before finishing the last chapter.
“While we have amazing stuff from the playoff run, Tom’s hand injury and the great comeback in the AFC Championship, once the Super Bowl played out, I started to wonder the relevance of all that other stuff and determined that we really needed one final exit interview with our guy before we could figure out what Chapter 6 was truly going to be about,’’ he wrote.
The interview is done now, and Chopra describes Brady as “reflective and upbeat, very present and disappointed,’’ but also “gracious toward the Eagles,’’ which is interesting considering the Pats quarterback skipped the customary postgame handshake with the winning QB, Nick Foles.
The director doesn’t say when the episode will be posted, but it’ll likely be soon.
No. 12, meanwhile, is getting some R and R at his surfside compound in Costa Rica. Brady posted a picture of himself snogging with wife Gisele Bundchen captioned: “This Sunday’s outcome is a lot better than last Sunday’s! #losingstreakstopsat one.’’
