In September, Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito announced that Governor Charlie Baker would sign an executive order “in the coming weeks’’ creating a new commission to review transportation needs and how the state could fund them.

More than three months later the administration still has not established its transportation review commission.

An administration spokesperson said this week there was no update and that the commission is still being developed.

When she announced the commission at a Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation forum, Polito said the governor would sign an executive order “in the coming weeks’’ and that the commission would “further review, analyze and better inform the state’s transportation capital needs,’’ and look at how state revenues — the gas tax and vehicle registration fees, for instance — could shift along with changes in transportation and technology.

“There has not been a true transportation blueprint for the next decade that covers all modes of transportation across the entire commonwealth,’’ Polito said in her remarks on Sept. 27.

The announcement followed an MTF report that was critical of the state for not having an updated blueprint of how it is going to address transportation infrastructure and financing needs in the next decade.
