The Massachusetts State Lottery is offering more than $1 billion total in three jackpot games this weekend, according to a lottery press release.
Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot drawing is up to about $445 million; Saturday’s Powerball jackpot drawing is an estimated $550 million; and Saturday’s in-state Megabucks Doubler drawing is up to $8.2 million. It’s the first time the advertised amounts for Mega Millions and Powerball are simultaneously over $400 million, the press release said.
The cash options on each of the prizes are also all millions of dollars — Mega Millions is at an estimated $277.6 million; Powerball is an estimated $347.9 million; and Megabucks Doubler is an estimated $6.47 million.
The last time the Mega Millions jackpot — a $43 million prize — was hit was Oct. 13, a drawing won by several ticketholders in Michigan and Rhode Island.
The last Powerball jackpot was hit on Oct. 25, when a Louisiana ticketholder won $191.1 million, but the largest amount ever won was swept by a Chicopee ticketholder on Aug. 23.
The Megabucks Doubler drawing is the game’s highest since March 11, which totaled $11.34 million.
