JFK Library to honor Conn. governor
Connecticut Governor Dannel P. Malloyand Zhen Tu, a junior at Eagan High School in Eagan, Minn., will be honored at the annual Profile in Courage Award ceremony at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum on May 1.
Malloy will receive the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award for the way he defended the US resettlement of Syrian refugees and personally welcomed a family of Syrian refugees to New Haven after they were turned away by another state.
Tu will receive a $10,000 prize for winning first place in the national John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage essay contest. Her essay on the late US Senator Howard Baker was selected as the best out of more than 2,000 entries.
