In hails of bullets, we lose a key to understanding mass killings
David Crary of the Associated Press writes of the efforts of experts to understand the motives of mass killers (“Lone wolf or jihadist? Mass killings test experts,’’ Page A2, July 29). Isn’t it too bad that law enforcement universally seems to feel compelled to destroy the best sources of information on this matter in hails of bullets?
