The singer of “Carolina in My Mind’’ has Canada on his mind at the moment. James Taylor says proceeds from two concerts north of the border next month — June 7 in Edmonton and June 8 in Calgary — will benefit the Canadian Red Cross Alberta Fires Emergency Appeal, created in the wake of wildfires that have displaced more than 80,000 residents of Fort McMurray. “It’s clear that this is a catastrophe for Alberta and many of its residents. It’s just impossible to ignore,’’ said Taylor, who lives in the Berkshires. “I can’t imagine what the families of Alberta are going through right now and I saw this as an opportunity to help in some way. I’m hoping that this donation will make a difference and that others are inspired to join in lending a helping hand.’’
