The gift that gives back
Montserrat college of art

Art makes good gifts. It’s personal, meaningful, and long-lived. And, in this case, contributes to the scholarship fund at a school where 99 percent of the students require financial aid. The Montserrat Art Sale, back after a several-year hiatus, will showcase more than 250 paintings, prints, drawings, photographs, sculptures, and other original artworks by students, faculty, alumni, and friends of the college. At least 50 percent of the proceeds will fund student scholarships (the other half goes to the artist, unless he or she has chosen to donate the full amount). The sale kicks off with a festive preview party on Friday evening, Nov. 18 (tickets are $100), followed by the general sale (free admission) on Saturday, Nov. 19 and Sunday, Nov. 20.
