The suspected Dallas sniper was deranged and dangerous, and I mourn the police officers and civilians he killed or wounded. But what was the reason for blowing him up with an explosive? Couldn’t the robot that was used have been outfitted with tear gas or pepper spray — something to take the suspect alive rather than killing him?
