■ POLICE-INVOLVED CRASH A man was struck and killed by a police cruiser Sunday in Barnstable, according to police. The man, who was not identified, was in the street near 1358 Falmouth Rd. when the cruiser, a 2016 Ford Police Interceptor, hit him at about 2 a.m., State Police said in a news release. The man was allegedly walking north on the yellow center lines of the road. State Police said the cruiser was passing another car, which had pulled over, when its right side struck the pedestrian. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, said Barnstable Police Detective Sergeant John York. The officer, who was also not identified, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital. The officer was responding to a call, and the cruiser’s lights and siren were on at the time of the crash, State Police said.
■ HAVERHILL STABBING A man was arrested Sunday for a Haverhill stabbing that left two people hospitalized, officials said. Hayden Delafuente, 21, of Haverhill allegedly stabbed two men around 1:30 a.m. Sunday outside 77 Washington St., according to Carrie Kimball Monahan, spokeswoman for the Essex district attorney’s office. A 28-year-old Lawrence man was sent to Massachusetts General Hospital, Kimball Monahan said. He was in critical condition Sunday afternoon. The second victim, a 30-year-old man from Salem, N.H., was taken to Lawrence General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Kimball Monahan said. Delafuente faces two counts of armed assault with intent to murder and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, Kimball Monahan said.
■ LOWELL STABBING A teenage boy was found on a Lowell street Sunday evening with an apparent stab wound in the back, according to Lowell police. Police arrived on Bridge Street around 6:30 p.m. after a caller reported seeing the wounded 17-year-old walking in front of a 7-Eleven convenience store, according to Lowell police Captain Timothy Crowley. He was “totally uncooperative and refusing to provide any information’’ to police about the wound, Crowley said in an-email. The teenager was taken by ambulance to Tufts Medical Centercq in Boston with injuries that are serious but not life-threatening, Crowley said. Detectives are investigating the incident, Crowley said.
