Veteran Boston broadcaster Rod Fritz is out at WBZ NewsRadio 1030.

The station, whose new corporate parent iHeartMedia recently filed for bankruptcy, sent an emotionless memo to employees letting them know Fritz is done.

“Rod Fritz is moving on and will no longer anchor here at WBZ,’’ read the memo from WBZ News Radio’s Jon MacLean. “We thank Rod for his years of service and wish him all the best.’’

Fritz, a former news director at WRKO, has been assigning, reporting, or broadcasting news on Boston radio for four decades. Last fall, not long after iHeartMedia assumed ownership of WBZ NewsRadio 1030, the station’s longtime director of news and programming, Peter Casey, was let go.
