The 2025 boys basketball district tournament has come and gone with six teams from Macomb County still alive and hooping.
The next round — the regional tournament — will begin on Tuesday, March 4 from each region’s respective host site.
In Division 1, the Chippewa Valley Big Reds beat Ford II, 53-52, and L’Anse Creuse North took down the Port Huron Northern Huskies, 64-60, both to repeat as district champions.
CVHS and the Crusaders will meet at Troy High School to determine who competes for a regional title.
On the other side of the bracket at Troy, the De La Salle Pilots — who beat Cousino, 61-49 — will look to quell upstart Troy Athens, who took down Royal Oak, 39-37, to win their district.
The reigning Division 2 champion Lincoln Abes took the next step toward repeating, defeating their head coach’s former team, the Pershing Doughboys, 56-41. Their regional tournament will be played at Ferndale, where they’ll have to go through a bevy of Detroit schools.
Center Line stayed alive in D2 as well with a 46-32 win over South Lake. The Panthers’ next foe is Notre Dame Prep, who squeaked by city rival Pontiac, in the regional tournament hosted by Yale. On the other side of the bracket is St. Clair vs. Yale.
The Parkway Christian Eagles won their Division 4 district championship with a 69-60 victory over Auburn Hills Oakland Christian. Their hunt for a regional title starts with Genesee Christian, whose overtime win over Dryden sent them to the next round. The region is hosted by Kingston High School, whose team is also alive and will play Deckerville.
