They made fleece comfortors and painted kindness rocks, they collected stuffed animals and wrote notes of appreciation for service.
Hundreds of teens gathered Saturday in Huntington Beach for Global Youth Service Day.
The volunteer fair was sponsored by JustServe, which hosts clubs for high school students. It is a program of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has nearly 60 clubs throughout Southern California that participate in monthly activities such as feeding the homeless and writing letters to veterans.
But Saturday wasn’t all about helping support local charities and organizations; the teens also enjoyed a DJ, games and treats in celebration of the upcoming end of the school year.
