A Ford Mustang crashed into the second story of a Chino home early Tuesday, injuring four occupants of the car.

Chino Police in a news release said alcohol may have been a factor in the 12:20 a.m. crash, during which the black Mustang struck a curb and became airborne before crashing into the home on the 6600 block of Medford Court, north of Riverside Drive and west of Euclid Avenue, and landing on top of a patio cover.

The 21-year-old driver was transported to a hospital with serious injuries. The three passengers in the car, a 19-year-old and two minors, were also transported to a hospital with injuries. The residents of the home were not injured in the crash.

The car was traveling southbound on the 12600 block of San Antonio Avenue when it collided with a curb and the side of a concrete drainage canal, propelling it into the air, police said. Video of the crash scene showed that the car had crashed through the wall of the home, resulting in an opening in the wall through which the wrecked car could be seen from inside the home.

The home had “considerable structural damage,” Chino Police said in the news release.

The Chino Police Department asked that anyone with information about the crash contact Officer Lind at 909-334-3081.
