His sophomore teammate Blake Thompson, meanwhile, reached base nine more times last week, giving him 5A’s seventh-best on-base percentage (.706).
Addy Ritzenhein, Niwot girls track and field: The junior ran the fastest girls’ 3,200-meter run of the season in Colorado, clocking in at 10 minutes and 26.31 seconds at the Niwot Invitational on Saturday.

Jade West, Niwot girls track and field: The two-time defending shot put champ threw 43 feet, 2 inches to win the event at Saturday’s Niwot Invitational. While it wasn’t her best toss of the season (45-3.5 was her best on March 22), she’s the only girls’ athlete from Colorado to throw over 40 feet this season — and she’s done it in all five of her meets this spring.
