How Venice Film Festival will avoid Jolie, Pitt run-in
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt both have films premiering at the Venice Film Festival, but the bitter exes won’t have any reason to interact during the annual event.
The festival’s director, Alberto Barbera, told Vanity Fair that Pitt and Jolie’s appearances for their respective films will “of course” keep the stars apart.
“Angelina will be on the first day, on Thursday the 29th, and she will leave right after with “Maria” director Pablo Larraín to go to Telluride,” Barbera revealed. “Brad will arrive only on Saturday to Venice. There is no way that they can cross each other at the Lido.”
Jolie filed for a divorce in 2016 and the former couple hasn’t been on good terms ever since. Though both have been legally single since 2019, the divorce is still pending as they viciously hash out issues that include ownership of their winery, Château Miraval.
Oasis adds 3 more shows to its 2025 reunion tour
Oasis has added three more dates to its reunion tour of Britain and Ireland, citing “unprecedented demand,” as fans of the Britpop behemoths braced for a rush to secure tickets that start at about 74 pounds (just under $100). The new shows announced Thursday are at Heaton Park in the band’s home city of Manchester, England on July 16, 2025, at London’s Wembley Stadium on July 30 and at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium on Aug. 12.
Oasis is now scheduled to play 17 gigs — its first shows for 15 years — in Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin starting at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on July 4.
Oasis was one of the dominant British acts of the 1990s, producing hits including “Wonderwall” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger.” Its sound was fueled by singalong rock choruses and the combustible chemistry between guitarist-songwriter Noel Gallagher and his brother Liam, the band’s singer.
White threatens Trump with legal action over campaign use of song
Jack White says he is suing Donald Trump over his campaign’s use of the White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army” in an online video posted by Margo Martin, Trump’s deputy director of communications.
“Oh....Don’t even think about using my music you fascists,” White wrote in an Instagram post on Thursday, which was linked to the offending post. “Law suit coming from my lawyers about this (to add to your 5 thousand others.)”
White is one of several artists who have objected to or who have threatened legal action against Trump and his team for what they say is unauthorized use of their music, including Beyoncé, Celine Dion, Foo Fighters and Bruce Springsteen.
