An Oakland bicyclist is dead following a Friday night hit-and-run crash.

Around 11:21 p.m., a 44-year-old man was riding a bicycle on 78th Avenue and crossing International Boulevard when he was hit by a vehicle headed eastbound, according to the Oakland Police Department.

The bicyclist was transported by ambulance to a hospital, where he died.

There is no detailed description about the vehicle or details about the driver, according to the department. It is unknown if drugs played a factor in what happened.
