DA to hold virtual town hall on shooting

Boulder County District Attorney Michael Dougherty is holding a virtual town hall at 1 p.m. Tuesday to discuss Lafayette officers’ non-fatal shooting of Sean Wood.

On Oct. 22, two Lafayette officers responded to a call to service on Waneka Trail and witnessed Wood stabbing his father. After requesting that Wood drops his knives, officers fired their weapons at Wood.

It was later determined that the shooting was legally justified, as both officers believed they were in imminent danger of being gravely harmed or killed.

The Boulder DA’s office announced via a Facebook post that any questions or concerns can be submitted prior to the meeting at boulderda@bouldercounty.org.

The virtual link for tomorrow’s town hall meeting is https://bit.ly/LafayettePDOISTownHall. Community members are also able to call in to the meeting by dialing 720-400-7859. The conference ID is 548 153 946#.
