Arthur Ronald Johnston left this world on 3 June 2023 at the age of 84. He was born 13 March 1939 to Clark Johnston and Mildred (Feldman) Johnston.

Arthur spent his first 10 years on a farm north of Lyons before moving to the city of Lyons. He graduated from Lyons High School in 1957. He attended Kansas State University where he graduated in 1962. Following completion of his education, he joined the Navy where he received a commission as an officer and served during the Vietnam conflict.

He married Mary E. Murphy on 14 January 1968. His professional career took him and this family to many parts of the United States with Woodland, California being his place of residence upon retirement. He enjoyed sailing and spent two years in Mexico on the Sea of Cortez during retirement. He also spent time on their acreage enjoying the outdoors and nature.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, two sons: Philip of Valley Springs, California and David of Sunnyvale, California and one daughter, Joanne Clark of Pittsburgh, California.

Four grandchildren also survive. One brother, Keith Johnston of Nixa, Missouri also survives.

At this time, no memorial services are planned. Final resting place will be in the Lyons Cemetery, Lyons, Kansas. Arthur was a loving husband and father and will be missed.
