



SCOTTS VALLEY >> Some of the area’s top senior boys and girls hoopsters, as well as the 2025-26 incoming class of freshmen boys, will compete at the 12th annual Central Coast Basketball All-Star Games at Scotts Valley High on Sunday.
High school rosters for the North teams, featuring talent from Santa Cruz County, and South teams, which boasts Monterey County standouts, were chosen by the local coaches within their respected leagues. Boys’ middle school rosters were chosen by athletic directors.
Players for all six teams were selected for having demonstrated their commitment to excellence and knowledge of the game.
The eighth grade boys’ game starts at noon. The senior girls take the court at 2 p.m., and the senior boys wrap up the event with a 4 p.m. tip-off.
Admission is $5 for the event, which is being put on by the Reggie Stephens Foundation. Money raised helps pay for game officials, awards, and jerseys. The seniors get to keep their personalized all-star jersey.“I get to send off the seniors in a way seniors need to be sent off,” said Stephens, a former NFLer who prepped at Santa Cruz.
Suiting up for the North’s senior boys are Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League co-MVP Isaiah Ackerman, and Aptos teammates Nick Tovani and Ryan Solario, St. Francis’s Nash Horton, the PCAL Cypress Division MVP, Scotts Valley’s Will Schilling, Taylor Knox, and Jacob Sanders, Santa Cruz’s Guerande Houssin and Mosiah Cumberbatch, and Soquel’s Nico Ramirez.
The South’s boys senior squad includes: Carmel’s Simeon Brown, the Pacific Coast Athletic League Gabilan Division MVP, Warren Blut, the Gabilan’s Offensive Player of the Year, and Hudson Rutherford, Monterey’s Jamar Aquino, the Gabilan’s Defensive Player of the Year, Jaeden Chen, and J.J. Roth, North Monterey County’s Kenji Mellin, the PCAL Mission Division MVP, Alisal’s Misael Palafox-Silva, Palma’s Soren Roberts, and Rancho San Juan’s Andrew Hale, the Mission’s Impact Player of the Year.
The Senior girls’ North team features Scotts Valley’s Abigail Shi and Claire Skinner, Watsonville’s Brianna Leon and Hailey Brooks, Aptos’ Berkeley Ashby, Soquel’s Ana Maurer, Pacific Collegiate’s Addie Payne, Monte Vista Christian’s Sophia Cortes, St. Francis’ Maeve Flynn, and San Lorenzo Valley’s Taylor Dunn.
The South’s senior girls roster includes: Pacific Grove’s Savannah Hardy, the PCAL’s Mission Division MVP, and Lilli Gaona, North Monterey County’ Ashley Torres and Peyton Phillips, Palma’s Aveena Ducusin and Frankie Rossi, Monterey’s Brooklyn Choates, Marina’s Mia Martin, Carmel’s Savannah Radowicz, and Rancho San Juan’s Azaia Losada-Phillips.
The North’s eighth-grade boys team includes: Scotts Valley’s Crosby Yatson and Carson Solbes, San Lorenzo Valley’s Mason Pifer and Val Martinez, Notre Dame’s Ben Rose and Owen Osburn, Mission Hill’s Sage Lopez, Baymonte Christian’s Oliver Hanson, New Brighton’s Kane Scott, and Branciforte’s Louis Dubois.
The South’s eighth grade team features Buena Vista’s Angel Gonzalez II and Stanley Valdez, Los Arboles’ Aiden Ramirez and Elijah Phillips, Pacific Grove’s Randy Randall, Monte Vista Christian’s Jaeden Lewis, Bay View Charter’s Elijah Eoff, Carmel’s Leo Glazier, Palma’s Michael Richert, and Dual Language Academy of the Monterey Peninsula’s Elijah Salto.
