It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward “Eddie” Paul Galli, a beloved husband, brother, uncle, Godfather and friend. Eddie left us on January 18, 2025, at the age of 65. Born onMay 11, 1959, to Felicia and Italo “Ed” Galli in San Pablo, CA, Eddie spent his life as a proud and devoted resident of Fremont.
Eddie will be deeply missed by his devoted wife, Mary Galli (née Langford), sister, Lorna Lathram (née Galli) and her husband Steve; his sister-in-law, Laura Luke; his nieces, Tabetha Luke and Melyssa Mahan, nephew and godson Robert (Bobby) Luke, nephew-in-law Roy Mahan, godson Garrett Coleman, goddaughter, Jo-Anna Gallegos, cousins Norman and Larry Bennicuff, and numerous extended family members and cherished friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Felicia and Italo Galli.
Eddie’s career was defined by years of dedication, with roles at Syufy (Century) Theaters with nearly 14 years at Union City Drive-In and 19 years at Home Depot. Wherever he worked, Eddie’s kindness, generosity, and quick wit left a lasting impression. His infectious sense of humor could brighten any room, and his boundless generosity—whether through a helping hand or comforting word—made him a steadfast presence for those fortunate enough to know him.
Eddie's Happy Place was his property in Greeley Hills. He loved the close community, the gorgeous views, and the opportunity to ride his tractor around the property, smiling his warm smile.
Family was the cornerstone of Eddie’s life. He took immense joy in life’s simple pleasures and was known for his warm heart and caring nature. Eddie’s love for those around him was unwavering, and his memory will remain aguiding light for all who were blessed to share in his journey.
The viewing: 2/13/25 4-8 PM and Rosary 6PM at Holy Sepulchre Funeral Center, 1051 Harder Rd, Hayward. The Funeral Mass will be on 2/14 10:30 am at Holy Spirit Church, 37588 Fremont Blvd, Fremont. Burial timmediately following to Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 26320 Mission Blvd, Hayward. A reception will follow at Our Lady of the Rosary, 703 CSt, Union City. Inlieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Greeley Hill CA Elementary School or The National Kidney Foundation.
Eddie’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. While his physical presence is no longer with us, his love, laughter, and kindness will remain with us always. Eddie was a truly special soul, and his legacy of joy and love will never fade.
