Justice James E.C. Perry applauds during grand opening ceremonies for the Justice James E. C. Perry Courthouse Annex in Sanford on Friday. The new, state-of-the-art annex expands the footprint of Seminole County’s Five Points Complex. The $42.5 million design-build project adds 104,000 square feet of usable space, hosting offices for the Clerk of the Court, Public Defender, State Attorney and Seminole County Sheriff’s Office. The building is named after Perry, the 85th justice appointed to the Florida Supreme Court, serving from 2009-16. He also was the first African American Circuit Judge of Florida’s Eighteenth Judicial Circuit, and served two years as chief judge of the Circuit in the early 2000s. Stephen M.
