Rookie right-hander Jacob Misiorowski bounced back after allowing a leadoff homer to Shohei Ohtani by striking out 12 in six innings as the host Milwaukee Brewers defeated the slumping Los Angeles Dodgers 3-1 on Tuesday night.

The NL West-leading Dodgers have lost five straight.

Ohtani opened the game by connecting on an 0-2 curveball from Misiorowski and delivering a 431-foot shot over the center-field wall. Misiorowski (4-1) responded by striking out the next five batters and ended up yielding only four hits and one walk to outduel three-time Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw.

The Brewers pulled ahead for good by scoring two runs off Kershaw in the fourth inning. Milwaukee added an insurance run when Sal Frelick homered off Kirby Yates in the eighth.

Kershaw (4-1) worked six innings and allowed two runs, six hits and one walk.

Tigers 4, Rays 2: Colt Keith homered and drove in three runs as Detroit won its fifth straight game, beating visiting Tampa Bay.

In the seventh, Zach McKinstry walked, stole his second base of the game, and scored when Keith hit his eighth homer off Edwin Uceta (5-2).

Red Sox 10, Rockies 2: Brayan Bello struck out a season-high 10 in the first nine-inning complete game of his career, Trevor Story hit a three-run homer and Boston defeated Colorado at Fenway Park for its fifth straight win.

Bello (5-3), who had seven strikeouts after one trip through the Rockies lineup, gave up five hits and one walk.

Ceddanne Rafaela hit a two-run double during a four-run rally in the sixth, followed by a six-run outbreak in the seventh when Story homered and Jarren Duran added a solo shot.

Hunter Goodman ended the shutout bid with a two-run homer in the ninth inning.

Pirates’ Cruz joins Derby: Pittsburgh Pirates center fielder Oneil Cruz was added to next week’s Home Run Derby in Atlanta.

He is the fifth player named as a participant in Monday’s event at Truist Park, which hosts the All-Star Game a night later. Also competing are Atlanta’s Ronald Acuña Jr., Minnesota’s Byron Buxton, Seattle’s Cal Raleigh and Washington’s James Wood.

Cruz, 26, slugged his 16th home run of the season Tuesday night at Kansas City. He hit a career-best 21 last season.
