Get your golf clubs and get ready to hit the fairway this summer when the Yolo Food Bank hosts its annual fundraiser golf tournament. The Farm-to-Fairway Tournament is set for June 7 at Teal Bend Golf Club in Sacramento.
Participants will be able to build community with fellow Yolo Food Bank supporters & enjoy a terrific day on the greens featuring:
Fun games throughout the course
A raffle of great items & fun experiences
A delicious luncheon with award presentation
Four person scramble format
In scramble golf, teams of two to four players work together, hitting all shots from the same spot, chosen by the best shot among the team. Each team only uses one score per hole, recorded from the best ball used. The team with the lowest total score for the round wins.
On each hole, each team member tees off. The team then selects the best of the tee shots, based on position and potential for the next shot. All team members then play their second shots from that selected location. This process of choosing the best shot and hitting from that spot is repeated until the ball is holed out. Only one score is recorded per hole, based on the number of strokes it took the team to hole the ball.
The proceeds made from the golf tournament will help fund Yolo Food Bank’s programs and services, according to an announcement from the organization.
