SONOMA >> Two NASCAR drivers from the north state will be competing at their home track this weekend at Sonoma Raceway.

Corning’s Tyler Reddick, racing in the No. 45 car, and Elk Grove’s Kyle Larson, racing in the No. 5 car, will drive the 1.99 mile road course at the Toyota/Save Mart 350 on Sunday as part of the NASCAR Cup Series. Sunday’s race is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m., with racer introductions held at noon.

The Toyota/Save Mart 350 is one of three races in Sonoma beginning Friday and caps the weekend of excitement.

In addition to Sunday’s race, Larson will also be competing Saturday at the Pit Boss/FoodMaxx 250 in Sonoma as part of the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Saturday’s race begins at 1:30 p.m. and will span 79 laps and 127.36 miles. Reddick will not be competing Saturday.

Neither Reddick or Larson will be competing in Friday’s General Tire 200, a part of the ARCA Menards Series West.

Tickets for all three races are still available and can be found at www.sonomaraceway.com along with more information.

Larson is currently third in the NASCAR Cup Series standings with 613 points, three wins and nine top-5 finishes. He trails Chase Elliot (619) and William Byron (632). Larson has not competed nearly as much in the Xfinity Series, where he sits in 65th place with two wins and three top-5 finishes.

Two spots behind Larson in the NASCAP Cup Series is Reddick, who sits in fifth place with 584 points. Reddick has no wins in this year’s Cup Series; however, he has five top-5 finishes.

Larson’s history at his home track at Sonoma includes two victories, the most recent was also the most recent race, in 2024. He also won in 2021. He’s competed at Sonoma 12 times, each year with the exception of 2020 with the race was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. He has five top-10 finishes (2016, 2018, 2021, 2022, 2024), and has finished in the top-20 11 of the 12 times he’s competed (23rd in 2023).

Jeff Gordon has the most wins (5) at Sonoma since 1989. A win Sunday for Larson would tie him for third place with Tony Stewart with the most wins at the raceway, one win behind Martin Truex Jr. (who retired after the 2024 racing season) who sits in fourth place.

Reddick has never won the race at his home track in Sonoma, however he had his best finish (8th) last year. He has raced four times in Sonoma, finishing eighth, 19th, 35th and getting a DNF because of a pit road violation.

Thirty-six cars are scheduled to compete in Sunday’s race. Larson will start fifth Sunday in the third row, and Reddick will start second behind the winner of the qualifying race Joey Logano.
