Watsonville High senior quarterback Fernanda Lazo passed for three touchdowns, and the Wildcatz won 28-6 over Alvarez in their final game at Geiser Field on Monday.

The team, which competes in the Pacific Coast Athletic League’s Gabilan Division, will play the remainder of its home games on its baseball field as Geiser Field undergoes stadium renovations.

Lazo threw two touchdown passes to running back Isabella Alvarez, from 40 and 50 yards out, and one to junior center Stephanie Martinez, from 32 yards out.

Isabella Alvarez also ran for a 32-yard touchdown.

Watsonville senior linebacker Brianna Leon made three interceptions, including one she returned 40 yards for a touchdown.

This week, the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) recognizes Fall Sports Officials Appreciation Week. The Wildcatz made posters for the officials, thanking them for their efforts, and gave them cookies.

“The referees were happy,” Wildcatz coach Zachary Cook said.
