Carillon senior living community sells for $70M

Carillon at Boulder Creek, a senior living apartment community at 2525 Taft Drive, recently sold for $70 million.

The 117-unit, 128,000-square-foot complex, built in 2010, was offloaded by Residences at Boulder Creek LLC, according to Boulder County property records. That entity is a holding company affiliated with real estate development and investment firm MGL Partners.

The buyer, public records show, was Dial Boulder PropCo LLC, a holding company registered to the Omaha, Nebraska, address of Dial Cos., which owns retail, commercial real estate and multi-family communities throughout the Midwest.

The land on which the Carillon at Boulder Creek was built sold in 2007 for $6.35 million, Boulder County records show.

Flourish Medical hires new chief executive

Flourish Medical LLC, a medical device-maker focused on womens’ urinary incontinence products, has hired Joanne Rupprecht as its new CEO.

Rupprecht, who received the Colorado Bioscience Association’s 2021 Institute Leadership Award, is an adjunct professor in the master’s program in biomedical entrepreneurship and regulatory affairs at the University of Colorado Denver’s Anschutz Medical Campus, according to a Flourish news release.

“Jo brings a real understanding of medical device development to Flourish,” Flourish board chairman Jim Kasic said in the release. “She knows the health care space inside and out, how to work with complex regulatory requirements and how to get products to market as quickly as possible.”

Flourish was launched last year by Kevin Horky, previously the vice president of business development at Boulder iQ, and chief medical officer Robert Spitz, previously medical director at ICON Government and Public Health Solutions.

Smith promoted to president of Credit Union of Colorado

Phil Smith has been promoted from chief operating officer to president of Denver-based Credit Union of Colorado, whose branch locations include Broomfield, Fort Collins and Greeley.

Smith had been COO at the credit union since 2010.

“Phil has served as an invaluable member of the Credit Union of Colorado team for more than a decade. It is my honor to congratulate him as he moves into the position of president,” said Terry Leis, Credit Union of Colorado’s CEO, in a prepared statement issued Wednesday. “Phil has been extremely impactful during his tenure and has developed relationships across all branches and departments. His leadership is steadfast, and he’s committed to the credit union’s ‘here to help’ mission. This promotion comes as the credit union prepares for continued growth and expansion.”

Prior to joining Credit Union of Colorado, Smith was vice president of Public Service Credit Union. He serves as volunteer board president for the Community College of Aurora Foundation, and also has given his time as a CU Student Choice board member and an inaugural member of Filene’s i3 innovative leadership program.
