Narcan now available at Mountain Health Center

Santa Cruz Community Health has announced that life-saving medication Narcan, a brand name for naloxone, is now available for free to the public outside the Mountain Health Center clinic at 231 Main St. Suite A. A Narcan Now dispenser has been installed at the entrance, allowing the public to access this medication 24/7 — no questions asked — to reverse opioid overdoses.

The dispenser features a QR code that links to the Central Coast Overdose Prevention website, ccodp.org/naloxonenow/, where users can access information about naloxone, including instructions on how to administer it. This initiative is a collaboration with Central Coast Overdose Prevention. By making naloxone easily accessible, Santa Cruz Community Health and Central Coast Overdose Prevention aim to lower the number of opioid-related deaths in the San Lorenzo Valley.
