Boulder

• 28th Street improvements — Pearl to Iris: This project will improve multimodal travel along 28th Street from Pearl to Iris. Northbound 28th and Valmont Road RTD Stop #17992 serving 205 and BOLT routes will be temporarily relocated to just south of the Valmont intersection until Dec. 31.

• 19th Street multimodal improvements: This project will improve multimodal travel along 19th Street at Quince Avenue. Quince Avenue will be closed at 19th for two weeks. The northbound detour will be via Sumac Avenue. Work is expected to end Monday. Work will continue to install curb/gutter, sidewalks and buffered bike lanes. 19th will be reduced to one lane with flaggers where work is occurring, until May 30.

• 19th Street and Fourmile Canyon Creek Underpass: Crews will begin replacing the bridge over Fourmile Canyon Creek and construct a bike/pedestrian underpass. Northbound RTD 204 bus stops at Riverside and Upland will be temporarily closed. Work is anticipated to end March 2, 2026.

• 30th Street multimodal improvements: On 30th Street from Colorado to Arapahoe, crews will be adding sidewalk-level protected bike lanes and transit stop improvements, requiring single lane closures as needed on 30th Street. Work is expected to be completed Feb. 11.

• 28th and Colorado protected intersection: This project is to install a protected intersection, sidewalk level protected bike lanes and bus lanes. There will be lane closures where work is occurring, as needed. Expect delays, pedestrian and bike detours when traveling in the area. Work is expected to be completed June 30.

• 15th Street and Iris Avenue crosswalk enhancement: One vehicle-lane closure in each direction, intermittent bike lane and sidewalk closures, vehicle turn restrictions and vehicle access restrictions. Bus stop #14598 (westbound at Iris Ave/15th Street) is closed until Tuesday. Stops at Iris Avenue/19th Street (#14600) and Iris Avenue/13th Street (#14595) are alternate stops. Work will take place from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. through Oct. 6.

Boulder County

• 95th Street (Valmont to Lookout roads) reconstruction and flood safety improvements: 95th Street between Valmont and Lookout roads will see significant construction activity lasting through the year. The project will be completed in two phases. The first phase, which is the reconstruction of the roadway, will require daytime, weekday road closures. The second phase, which is the construction of a large new culvert system, will require a full roadway closure, beginning Aug. 26. In addition, a new traffic signal and intersection configuration will be created at Lookout Road and 95th Street. Expect daytime, weekday lane shifts with short travel delays. Construction is expected to be completed by December.

• Colo. 119 resurfacing: CDOT will begin a resurfacing project on Colo. 119 between the roundabout in Nederland and Colo. 72/Coal Creek Canyon. Work will start at the south end of the project and progress north. Travelers can expect single-lane closures and delays of up-to-10-minutes between 7 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday through Friday. The project is anticipated to last through September, weather permitting.

• Jay Road paving project: Jay Road will be repaved and restriped between Colo. 119 and 63rd Street starting in September. Work will require daytime, weekday lane closures and traffic shifts, so expect delays. Flaggers will be used to safely move travelers around construction. The project is anticipated to end in late September.

• 120th Street closure: Crews working on the Willoughby Corner Housing Project will close 120th Street between Colo. 7 and Emma Street. The closure will be in place for approximately 10-weeks, weather permitting.

Longmont

• Firestone-Longmont mobility hub: The Colorado Department of Transportation is constructing the Firestone-Longmont Mobility Hub at the Interstate 25 and Colo. 119 interchange. Daytime work hours are expected from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, with periodic overnight work. Motorists can expect periodic single-lane closures on Colo. 119 and I-25 and on- and off-ramp closures, as well as 11-foot lane restrictions on the southbound I-25 on-ramp and the northbound off-ramp at Exit 240. From 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday, construction crews will be realigning the southbound and northbound off-ramps. The Colorado Department of Transportation will have temporary closures that impact the I-25 southbound and northbound off-ramps at Exit 240, at Colo. 119 and southbound I-25 main line. The project is expected to be completed by October.

Erie

• Colo. 7 and 119th Street: An intersection improvement project at Colo. 7 and 119th Street is officially underway, with an expected completion in late 2024. Residents will notice traffic control installations guiding the flow as construction teams dive into their tasks, including utility potholing and preparatory earthwork operations. Concurrently, various existing structures, such as fencing, will be removed to make room for the upgrades.

• County Line Road corridor upgrade project Cheesman to Balcolm closure: The County Line Road corridor upgrade project spans from Kenosha Road to Highway 7 and will occur in smaller segments through January 2025, weather permitting. Southbound traffic will now be rerouted onto Main Street, while northbound traffic will be redirected onto High Street. The speed limit on Main and High Streets will be 25 mph, and fines will be doubled for violations.

• Asphalt maintenance project: The town will begin its street maintenance project to enhance road quality in Erie. The project involves a 2-inch mill and overlay of various streets. This process will remove the top two inches of existing asphalt to eliminate surface irregularities, followed by applying a new 2-inch layer of hot mix asphalt to restore the road to a smooth, durable condition. Expect temporary traffic detours, restricted access, noise, dust and parking restrictions during work hours. Affected streets included in the project are Forsythia Street, Forsythia Court, Forsythia Place, Lilac Circle, Alpine Drive, Primrose Lane, Primrose Place, Crestview Lane, Hamilton Road, Holly Drive, Dogwood Drive, Dogwood Circle, Ivy Way, Wisteria Drive and Azalea Way.

• Road striping operations: Road striping operations will be conducted on most major arterial roads throughout the Town of Erie through Nov. 30, weather and other delays pending.

• Evans Street closure: Evans Street will be closed between County Line Road and Carbon Street until Oct. 10 for utility work. Traffic will detour via Cheeseman Street then onto Carbon Street to access Evans Street.

• Piper Drive partial lane closure: The town will be replacing a damaged storm culvert under Piper Drive, located on the east property line of 235 Piper Drive. Due to this work, one side of the street will be closed at a time to allow for excavation and replacement. There will be no full road closure, and traffic control will be in place to manage flow. Work hours will be from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays, with expected completion by Monday, weather permitting.

• Concrete repairs: Concrete repairs throughout Erie are set to run through Dec. 31, weather permitting. Crews will work on sidewalks, curbs, gutters, drain pans and ADA ramps across various locations. Work hours are 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Roads remain open; follow signs for safety.

• Potholing work: Potholing work will take place on County Line Road and Erie Parkway from through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., with single lane closures. Full traffic access will be maintained.
