David, Obamas working on series

Comedy star Larry David is partnering with a former president for his next project. The Independent reports that David, known as the creator and star of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and co-creator of the sitcom “Seinfeld,” is working with Barack and Michelle Obama on a new sketch comedy series for HBO.

The show does not have a title yet, but will focus on U.S. history and is expected to debut next year to coincide with the nation’s 250th anniversary. The show will be written by David and fellow “Curb Your Enthusiasm” alum Jeff Schaffer, with Schaffer directing. The Obamas founded production company Higher Ground in 2018, and have previously produced projects such as “Rustin” and “American Symphony.”
