Pasadena - Julia “Judy” Marie Beaudet, of Pasadena, California, passed away on Wednesday February 1, 2023. Judy was born on September 2, 1937, in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, an only child to Charles B. and Julia Winnifred Hughes. Judy graduated from St. Clair High School, attended Regis Women’s College in Weston, Massachusetts, and worked as a copy writer for WWON Radio Station in Woonsocket. While attending high school, Judy met Robert “Bob” Beaudet, who was the older brother of her good friend, Suzanne. Bob and Judy were married on September 14th, 1957, just before Bob started attending Harvard Graduate school.
In 1962, five years and three daughters later, after Bob’s graduation from Harvard, Judy and Bob moved west and settled in Pasadena, California. While Bob was occupied starting his career as a Chemistry Professor at USC, Judy was busy raising seven children. She still always found time to volunteer and support many organizations and schools in the Pasadena area. Judy was a member of the Assistance League of Pasadena for over 35 years and loved her time volunteering with the Seniors and Operation School Bell.
Judy volunteered as a Docent for the Pasadena Courthouse, taught Catechism at St. Felicitas and Perpetua Catholic Church, and always donated her time for “Read Across America.” Judy enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends, never turning down the opportunity to host a luncheon, dinner, or a party in the backyard. She also loved traveling, going on camping trips with other families, and joining Bob on his many business trips.
Judy is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert (Bob) Beaudet, and her six daughters, Susan Owechko (Yuri), Donna Morrison (Jim), Debra DeHaan (David), Stephanie Krant ( Maurice), Michelle Osinga (Dave), Nicole LaRosa ( Rick) and one son, David (Nancy). She will also be remembered by her 11 grandchildren: Stefan, Larisa, James, Patrick, Michael, Daniel, Jonas, Carmen, Zach, Liam, and Lucy.
