Novato, CA

Judith "Judie" Camaraota, a lifelong resident of Marin County, California, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024, in Novato. Born on March 10, 1942 in Ross, California, she was the cherished daughter of Orville and Loretta Lymburner.

Judie attended Saint Raphael's School and graduated from Marin Catholic High School Class of 1960. On July 29, 1961, Judie married Richard “Rich” Camaraota. Together they built a family filled with love and laughter. She is survived by her devoted husband Rich; her children Richard "Tony" Camaraota and Anna Camaraota; and her grandson Michael “Mike” Camaraota. Judie also leaves behind her sister Jean (Thomas) Cullinane and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Orville and Loretta Lymburner and her sister Mary (Theodore) Werner.

Judie dedicated much of her life to caring for others as a childcare provider and as a Brownie troop leader. Her generosity extended beyond her immediate circle—she was known for handing out care packages to those in need within her community. Judie’s creativity shone through her crafting talents, particularly in making exquisite holiday ornaments and decorations, knitting, and handcrafted jewelry. She found beauty in life’s simplest pleasures: working at Harris Digital and the friendships made there, sharing stories over lunch out with friends and family, or savoring a cocktail at the bar with loved ones.

Family camping trips and traveling with loved ones were among Judie’s favorite pastimes. Her warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

In honor of Judie’s memory, donations may be made to By The Bay Health (Hospice) or the Alzheimer’s Association.
