Passed away January 15, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Thilda, and brother Thomas (Gibbie). Sons Duane (Linda) and Gary (Kim), daughter Karen, grand children Joshua, Tyler, Catherine, Alexander and Brianna, great grandchildren Taylor & Brooks survive Lloyd. Also brothers Roger (Cora) and Don (Nancy) of Superior, WI. He also leaves behind many “ham” radio and dancing friends.

Lloyd graduated from Central High in Superior, WI, received a B.A. and B.S. from the U. of M. and his Masters at Mankato University. He worked a number of years at the Hamm’s Brewery in St. Paul before going into education. During his 30 years in education he taught in Lanesboro, Lake Crystal and Bloomington, MN.

In Bloomington he taught at Portland Jr. and Kennedy Sr. High School until his retirement in 1993. He was very active in local and regional politics in the ’70s and early ’80s, serving on the District 196 School Board, Eagan Planning Commission, Burnsville/ Eagan Cable Commission, and Dakota County Planning Commission. He was a member of Zuhrah Shrine, Lebanon Lodge, MN Valley Shrine Club, Zuhrah Drum Corps, ZARC, Jolly Nobles, and Zuhrah Computer Club. He was involved in amateur radio for many years with his call letters: WA0EFW.

He was a member of social organizations such as: Spares and Pairs Square Dance Club, SOS in Burnsville, SAT in Edina, MN, West Coast Swing Club, Rebels Swing Club, East Meets West Swing Club, Café Bailar Dance Club, and Laurel & Hardy “Busy Bodies” in Superior, Wisconsin. Also, a member of the Lake Superior Transportation Club in Duluth. In the ’90s he got “hooked” on country dancing and spent many hours at the Rodeo Night Club in Cottage Grove, and Starks in Eagan, MN. In lieu of flowers, donations to; Shriners Hospital for Children or St. Jude Children Research Hospital.

Funeral Services 1:00 Saturday (February 15, 2025) at Klecatsky’s Funeral Home, 1580 Century Point, Eagan, MN. Visitation 12:00 Noon.
