San Rafael, CA
Linda Hunsaker Biesheuvel, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 78 on January 31, 2025, in her hometown of San Rafael, California.
Born on December 13, 1946, to Frank and Geneva Hunsaker, Linda grew up with a brother, Frank, and three sisters, Geneva Rose, Judy, and Alice. When Linda was thirteen, she moved with her family from Portland, Oregon to San Anselmo, California, where she attended and graduated from Sir Francis Drake (now Archie Williams) High School. She married her husband, Tom, in 1967, and they had two daughters, Heidi and Mieke. Linda was also a proud graduate of Holy Names College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree and, later, a master’s degree in education therapy.
Linda dedicated her career to teaching and supporting young students, first as a kindergarten teacher for more than twenty years and later as an educational therapist diagnosing and working one-on-one with students with learning disabilities. She cultivated genuine connections with her students and was committed to helping them thrive.
Outside the classroom, Linda was known for her love of skiing. She learned as an adult and had a limitless zeal for it, racking up hundreds of days on the mountain with her family and friends over the years, come snow or shine. She was also a devoted “Tutu,” as she was known by her grandkids, and she cherished the time she spent caring for and playing with them when they were small and attending their sports events and supporting their interests as they grew older.
Linda is survived by her husband, Tom Biesheuvel; two daughters and their spouses, Heidi and Zack Brunette and Mieke and Jeremy Tarwater; four grandchildren, Cate, Will, Duncan, and Annika; brother, Frank Hunsaker, and sisters, Geneva Rose and Alice.
A funeral mass will be held in Linda’s honor on February 28, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Anselm Catholic Church, Ross, California, with a reception immediately to follow. Linda’s family requests that any donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her name.
Assisted by Monte's Chapel of the Hills, San Anselmo.
