1. ST. PIUS X-ST. MATTHIAS (23-5)
The Warriors are the Press-Telegram’s new No. 1 team in the area after senior guard Tyrone Riley’s double-double with 28 points and 12 rebounds helped them topple Mater Dei in a 76-54 road win to begin the CIF Southern Section Open Division playoffs last week. St. Pius X, which is in the Open Division for the first time in program history, will play at Roosevelt in a rematch of a nonleague game it lost 59-54 on Jan. 20. The Warriors will conclude Open Division play when they host JSerra at Warren High on Friday.

2. ST. JOHN BOSCO (23-6)
The Braves never led in a 72-67 loss at home to Sierra Canyon in their Open Division pool-play opener last week. St. John Bosco, which lost twice to Mater Dei in Trinity League play, will host Centennial tonight. Bosco will conclude Open Division pool play with a game at Harvard-Westlake on Friday.

3. LOS ALAMITOS (24-5)
The Griffins beat Canyon 73-46 to advance to the CIF-SS Division 1 quarterfinals. Junior guard Trent Minter had a double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds. Los Alamitos will play at Windward tonight.

4. ST. ANTHONY (22-7)
The Saints, who beat St. Bernard twice in the Del Rey League play, beat Sonora and Loyola last week to advance to the CIF-SS Division 2AA quarterfinals. St. Anthony, which is led by senior guard Quincy Phillips, will host Campbell Hall tonight.

5. LA MIRADA (21-8)
The Matadores lost 72-71 to St. Bernard in the second round of the Division 1 playoffs. In his first postseason appearance, Gene Roebuck finished his fabulous freshman season with a game-high 44 points and eight rebounds. La Mirada won its second consecutive Gateway League title this season.

6. POLY 22-8
The Jackrabbits are rolling through the CIF-SS Division 2A playoffs, winning their first- and second-round games by an average of 22.5 points. Poly will host Murrietta Valley tonight.

7. LYNWOOD (21-9)
The Knights have advanced to the CIF-SS Division 3A quarterfinals and are averaging 106.5 points per game in the playoffs. Sophomore point guard Jason Crowe Jr. is averaging 36.5 points per game in the postseason. Lynwood will play at Alemany tonight.

8. JORDAN (15-15)
The Panthers lost by two points in the second round of the CIF-SS Division 3AA playoffs. Jordan won three of its last four games, including a 67-56 win against Lakewood on Feb. 1.

The Lancers lost by two points in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 2A playoffs. Lakewood, which finished second in the Moore League, ended the season on a three-game losing streak.

The Jaguars have advanced to the CIF-SS Division 4A quarterfinals for the first time in program history. Cabrillo, which is led by junior point guard Lincoln Dean, will host Temecula Valley tonight.

The Dons advanced to the CIF-SS Division 4AA quarterfinals with 20-plus-point wins in the first two rounds of the playoffs. Cerritos will play at Highland tonight.
