James Henry Adams, 74, passed away at home. Jim will be missed by his friends, co-workers, and family members who loved his friendliness and sense of humor.

Jim was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to James and Flora Adams. The family moved to Whittier in 1956. He attended Evergreen Elementary, East Whittier JHS, and Sierra High School, and earned money doing lawn jobs and delivering the Whittier Daily News newspaper. He loved working on things around the house, his bikes, and his cars.

Jim graduated from Sierra HS in 1968 and was the League champion in the 800-yard run for the track team. He attended Rio Hondo College, then earned degrees in Architecture and Construction Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

His successful professional career allowed him to work on major construction projects in Europe, the Middle East, Thailand, and the Dominican Republic. The latter part of his career focused on Project Management for developments in the Greater Los Angeles area, one of the latest being the Security and Emergency Command Center in LA in preparation for the 2028 Olympics.

Jim is survived by his wife, Terry Adams; brothers, Robert Adams of Clifton, Maine, and Kenneth Adams of League City, Texas and many nephews and nieces.
