Monday will be much cooler after a cold front passed through on Sunday evening. It will be dry on Monday before a wetter period begins late Tuesday and continues through Friday.

The potential for freezing rain Tuesday night could lead to difficult travel conditions. Temperatures rise on Wednesday, bringing rain during the day before mixing with and changing to snow that night. Daytime rainfall totals could reach half an inch in some locations. Scattered light snow and snow showers are possible from Wednesday evening through the daytime hours Friday, but significant snowfall is not expected.

The year will end with above normal temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday. For the year, 2020 will rank as one of the warmest since Chicago weather records began in 1871.
